Birth Story For Baby #8 Part 1 !!!!

Hello friends and family sorry I have been MIA but for good reason the birth of our baby girl.

So many are asking about the birth and the story behind it so here it goes. Here is our precious Abby born August 13th, 2015 @ 2:05 pm weighing in at 9 lbs even and 20 inches long ……

11873415_10207537730232165_2118386758266170648_nThis was right after birth and oh what a blessing that story is, but first the story leading up to becoming pregnant with number 8 yes that number is not a type O lol !!!!

  • So lets go back to the beginning of the end of 2013 and the beginning of  2014 I had 7 children two adult children already my oldest was turning 21 my second to oldest 20 and then a 16, 14, 13, 11, and 9 year old and if you were to ask me if I wanted another or if I ever thought of having more I would of laughed and told you that I think your NUTS and I was FOR SURE DONE and my hubby more so than me !!!! Then out of no where I was getting baby fever I was like Lord what is this why am I going through these feelings what is happening to me and it was a HUGE roller coaster of emotions and breakdowns hubby and I chalked it up to being maybe the change of life coming I am 41 soon to be 42 in 2016 then maybe the biological clock was going away for good and that was why . Well then our family was given the chance to care for my nieces baby girl Sky for several months I was starting to really get baby fever at this time and I was pleading with God to take these feelings and desires away I thought it was all me and in my head. At this point hubby and I had had long tearful discussions on the matter and some intense fellowship at times. We would go back and forth is this really from the Lord and at this point I was like maybe its not our own baby we’re to have but it was God preparing us for a season with Skylar my nieces baby and that was part of it for sure however the desire for another of my own baby was growing deeper and deeper and becoming a longing, in fact I would see other babies and cry other pregnant moms and cry. At this point my hubby and I after much prayer and tears shed and pleading with God to guide us and allow us to be on same page we decided to stop using protection and if this was from God we would conceive and so the trying began. This is where the stress began and the real roller coaster ride took place. I thought that because I was  so fertile with past seven I was like it will happen right away right?????  WRONG !!! First of all I was no spring chicken any more was 41 , and at this point my oldest was 20 and my youngest was 9 almost 10  So it was 10 years since last becoming pregnant.  So with each passing month and one let down after another it had only been 3 months but I was getting worried it was NEVER gonna happen and at this point I began questioning God even getting mad especially because by now hubby had decided we were maybe wrong and was having second thoughts not wanting a baby and even placing a time limit on it which added to stress which btw is not good when one is trying to conceive. Now I decided to take matters into my own hands and help God along as if right I wish I would have hung onto the verse ” Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and Lean not on your OWN understanding but in all your ways Acknowledge Him and He ALONE WILL DIRECT OUR PATHS” Proverbs 3:5-6 oh no I was determined to take matters into my own hands I was on the internet for countless hours day and night looking for ways to improve chances of  becoming pregnant to no end I mean I started checking my temp. daily taking supplements planning days of intimacy which I might add sorta dampens the mood and makes hubby think I am a crazy person and deepens his thinking it is more me and less God and really at this point wants to stop trying. By now it had been 6 or 7 months and I am just frazzled and emotionally exhausted getting upset with others whom would find out their expecting a bundle of joy and I am beginning to believe my ship had sailed and no more babies were in our horizons not to mention our time with Skylar was growing shorter and shorter and the stress with all that had taken a huge toll on our whole family (that is a whole other long blog post). I pleaded with God why was this happening and now taking Sky away too and His still small voice said, “Are you done now “? and I was like done with what and He spoke clearly; ” you have taken over are you ready to surrender and give me full reign over this area no matter the outcome?” and at this point I fell to knees weeping and agreed humbly. Later that day I asked hubby if we could have a chat he agreed and it again was long tearful emotional chat we both asked for forgiveness and before I could go on he shared that the Lord spoke to him that morning and spoke loudly that he also needed to TRUST and SURRENDER and this was before he knew Lord also had same conversation with me. We both agreed that we surrendered to either A) Having baby # 8 or B) trusting in it all  even if we didn’t understand and never again became pregnant again. My hubby had had his own fears and lack of trust typical male concerns long term finances, our ages, the gap between kids yet God spoke loud and clear have not I provided in every other area of your lives time and time again and that broke my hubby.  We began to just have fun again no more temp. taking no more scheduled times of intimacy, no more pills for either of us that’s right I forgot to mention earlier I made hubby take special supplements as well bless his heart. It was now September 2014 and still nothing so I was beginning to be ok with it was a surrender issue and to prepare us for a short time with Skylar and I had peace finally. Baby fever seemed to be a faint desire and I was beginning to not be consumed by it all day every day. Fast forward to the Christmas time 2014 and a friend had asked me, “Cindy are you pregnant? Your acting pregnant I think you are” I was like no just alot going on with the Christmas tea and parties and  busy schedules I was tired and forgetful so I shook it off as nothing until after the Tea at this point I could breathe for a few seconds and realized I was late so literally the day after the Tea I bought a test took it and GUESS WHAT IT WAS POSITIVE!!!!!!! At this point I didn’t know if I should cry or be happy!! I call hubby to please come right home and he did and we cried and we BOTH knew it was for sure God considering the month or so prior we were only intimate 1 time and not even a fertile time God showed us lol !!!! So this is the story leading up to conceiving our baby more to come in Part 2 stay tuned!!!!!                                                   Until next time blessings,
  • Cindy B.

Coconut Oil – Good or Bad ???

coconut3-Coconut-Oil-for-Treatment_zps2507eb554-Coconut-Oil-Hair-Care-Treatments--290x217_zps03cc37ff           Coconut oil is being talked about all over the internet these days so is it truth or trend to what is being said on internet space??

I can try to shed some light on the coconut oil dilemma.

I use and LOVE the one in picture above I have found it to work the best for my family :)

Virgin (unrefined) coconut oil (VCO) is a bit different from other oils:

  • It is 92% saturated fat, compared to the saturated fat in other products: olive and soybean oils (about 15%), butter (63%), and palm kernel oil (82%). For further comparison, the fat in beef is about 50% saturated fat. Now don’t start freaking out thinking coconut is already a foe. Just wait…
  • It contains a high percentage of medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), whereas other oils are made up of long-chain triglycerides (LCTs). Without getting too deep into the science end of things, here’s why one researcher says this is important: “MCTs are transported directly from the intestinal tract to the liver, where they’re likely to be directly burned off as fuel and raise the metabolic rate slightly.”

After some research, here are some interesting things I’ve discovered about VCO:

Besides including VCO in your diet, it also has some other uses:

If you decide to cook with coconut oil, it’s important to know which form (virgin or refined) is best. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, VCO is best for baking or medium-heat sautéing (up to 350*), if you’re looking for a bit of a tropical flavor, as a substitute for shortening (VCO has no trans fats), or as a vegan replacement for butter. Refined coconut oil can be used for medium-high heat sautéing or stir-frying (up to 425*). VCO is also often used by candy makers because it doesn’t go rancid quickly. New to baking with coconut oil ?? I will share over the next few weeks some of my cooking tips with coconut oil as well as a few others I follow :)

So for me Coconut oil is GOOD but I will let you be the judge of it in your own way of living / lifestyle :)

Blessings until next time,

Recipe For the Gluten Free P B & J Cupcakes-

So for the cupcakes-

I used – 4 eggs (you separate the yokes from the whites but ALL egg will be used) .

1/2 teaspoon cream of tarter and a pinch of salt .

3 tablespoons granulated sugar,

3/4 cup creamy organic peanut butter,

3 tablespoons flavorless vegetable oil (I only had NON GMO Canola Oil so used that tasted fine)

1 teaspoon gluten free vanilla extract,

1/2 cup ground Almonds (Almond Meal),

1 teaspoon baking soda,

1/4 cup organic strawberry jam.

8 ounces organic cream cheese @ room temperature

1 1/2 sticks organic grass-fed unsalted butter also @ room temperature

1 teaspoon gluten-free vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups organic NON-GMO powdered sugar -sifted

3 heeping tablespoons Organic good quality strawberry jam

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare the cupcake pan by placing cupcake liners inside. With an electric mixer on high speed whip the 4 egg whites only (saving yokes in another clean bowl) with the salt and cream of tarter until soft peaks appear. With mixer running add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until stiff peaks form.

In the bowl with the 4 egg yolks beat yolks with the peanut butter, oil, and vanilla with mixer until smooth. Add Almond meal and baking soda. Mix Well.  Now add in the  bowl with beaten egg whites to peanut butter bowl with a spatula or spoon until batter is no longer streaky.

Put about 2 little (not heaping) tablespoons of batter in bottom of cupcakes liners then add 1 teaspoon of jam to each cupcake and then top each with rest of batter.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cupcakes have risen, and are golden in color and clean tooth pick when checking for done-ness also I suggest depending on ovens checking it at the 18 minute mark.

In a bowl with electric mixer blend together the cream cheese, butter and vanilla. Turn mixer off and add powdered sugar. Start mixer again on low speed and blend in the sugar increasing speed until mixture is smooth very smooth. Add the jam and Mix until just mixed in :)
